Senator Andrew Lanza and the JCC of Staten Island are sponsoring the annual Special Needs Resource Fair: “What Every Caregiver Should Know” on Friday May 11, 2018 from 9:30a.m.-12:30p.m. There will be over sixty exhibitors in addition to panel discussions, roundtables, seminars, and individual meetings with specialists.
Every year, hundreds of Staten Islanders attend this informative session to learn about the resources available to their loved ones. Thanks to recent legislation, a new tax-free savings account is now available to help people with disabilities maintain their health, independence and quality of life. The “NY ABLE” program provides families and individuals with a secure and practical way to save and invest funds without jeopardizing their eligibility for many important disability-related benefits, including SSI and Medicaid. More information regarding NY ABLE and other important programs will be available at the Special Needs Resource Fair. A copy of the event flyer is attached:
